F. Carter Karins brings decades of experience in restoration and construction management.

With experience in construction management, real estate development, residential design and commercial design, Mr. Karins is uniquely qualified to deliver engineering solutions that serve our clients' long-term interests. He has been engaged in the restoration of reinforced concrete structures for over 20 years, utilizing conventional repair methods, carbon fiber reinforcing and impressed current cathodic protection. His combination of experience makes him uniquely qualified to provide consulting services during planning, design and construction phases, as well as consulting services for the design of machine components and systems.

John’s work includes over 30 publications in technical journals and books. He leads the Karins’ team in research and design.

John’s experience is extensive in the practice, research and teaching of structural design and engineering. His specific areas of expertise include structural design, code development, structural mechanics, earthquake and wind engineering, flood-resistant building design, infrastructure rehabilitation, corrosion in reinforced concrete, structural testing, fiber reinforced polymer composite reinforcement applications, fiber optic sensing and lifecycle evaluation.
