Another design project is making steady progress at our Sarasota office.

The Portmore Residence is on its way to being completed! We’ve designed the structural elements of the home including foundations, columns, walls and beams. We’ve also provided preliminary planning and design, final design, construction documents and construction administration.

Each project we take on is unique, and we love uncovering and taking on the challenges that unfold when creating such special custom features. When we determined the open clearstory was mainly unsupported on the lower level, we designed structural steel tubes and concrete beams to be hidden within the architecture to float the entire system. We also paid special notice and sensitivity to the master bath, a portion of which cantilevers out from the main part of the house. We’ve designed the slab on grade to extend out, picking up the walls and framing above.
