The Karins team recently participated in the Skyway 10K in support of the Armed Forces Families on March 12th, enjoying the breathtaking view as they ran across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. As proud members of the community, Karins is committed to giving back to this important cause.

Karins is dedicated to giving back to the community and was thrilled to have the opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity! Five of our staff from the Sarasota office - Kyle Chmielewski, Moiz Shabbir, Holly Bergere, Paula Barros-Peno, and Beth Taylor - recently took time to help construct new homes and hopefully make a change for families who need it.
All of us had a great time on January 26th as Karins came in 2nd place!! A huge congratulations to our chef Ted Brase for his delicious cooking and to Holly Berge and Kyle Chmielewski for their hard work. Way to go team! Shoutout to all the other competitors for firing up the grill and creating so much amazing food!
The Karins structural design team in partnership with BDG Architects is bringing a modern new residence to life in Tampa. The 7-story, 104-unit residential building will be on East Whiting Street in Downtown Tampa and is currently in development. The structure will rise about 100 feet, yield 62,00 square feet of space, and include 2 pools on the 2nd level.
The fast-moving hurricane Nicole forced evacuations for beachside residents in buildings across most of the central East coast. With landfall of the storm, buildings of all kinds faced structural threats from high winds, driving rain, and rising sea and flood waters. At especially high risk were beachside properties, with beach erosion posing potential threat of foundation collapse.
We recently joined forces with Wilson Structural Consulting Engineers, made up of a talented team of structural engineering consultants providing a wide range of expertise and knowledge in structural engineering solutions. With high quality services in structural design, contract administration, and threshold inspection, Wilson Structural serves our clients through the process on any project.

The Patriot Plaza is a 2,800-seat ceremonial amphitheater that provides a timeless setting for the community to honor veterans and their families. With the help of many organizations, The Patterson Foundation was able to build the Patriot Plaza to serve as an educational space where visitors can learn about our country's patriotic history and reflect on the sacrifices made to earn and protect our freedom.

Our Daytona team participated in the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's first Job Shadow Day and hosted an engineering student for a visit to our office. Students had the opportunity to shadow our team members and get real life experience on how engineers tackle engineering challenges from design to decommissioning.
The Karins team had a successful day at the 2021 AIA Florida Convention & Trade Show! We had a great time at our booth where we shared our insights in structural engineering and restoration to other industry experts.
Our Branch Manager for Existing Building Consulting Nick Dunning from the Sarasota office took the restoration team to Livingston Amusements in Sarasota for some fun. Playing together as a team, they won a unicorn head for a prize!

Karins had a blast teeing off at the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association’s Spring Fling Golf Tournament last Friday at the Legacy Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch! As beverage cart sponsors, we helped make sure everyone could have a refreshing drink to beat the heat.
Karins Engineering was hired to reconfigure the lobby within the Riverside Condominium building in Melbourne. The work also included replacing the entry door, demolishing the existing divider wall, demolishing and rebuilding the code compliant ramp, installing the new tile and split AC unit, and removing and replacing the mailboxes.
Last week SunCoast Blood Centers hosted a blood drive here at Karins. Blood donations regularly help save the lives of people undergoing illnesses and trauma, and the process only takes a little bit of time out of a busy workday. We're proud to provide these donations to directly help our community.

We recently completed Ocean Blue Condominium's first restoration project! The iconic property was designed by the renowned Miami architect Kobi Karp in 2004.
Overlooking Miami Beach Altos Del Mark Park and the Atlantic Ocean, we preserved access to its terraces' stunning views by correcting chronic water intrusion issues.
Each year the Florida Community Association Professionals (FCAP) recognizes exceptional industry professionals. These are key individuals who have made a positive difference in the Florida Community Association.
The Continuum on South Beach tower is now in the final phases of a full exterior metal painting project. This South Beach condo tower is situated in the SOFI (South of Fifth Street) neighborhood, known for its resort-style oceanfront living. The project includes the removal of aluminum panels from balcony glass rails, their structural reinforcement and painting.

Charter Club of Marco Beach consists of two 11-story buildings. We’ve removed all existing walkway planter surfaces, and we're currently removing soil and demolishing walkway planters in order to install railings and achieve an increased walkway for patrons.
